Severe
allergic reactions ... triggered by allergens such
as nuts, seafood, bee stings, latex, etc ... can be fatal
in two to five minutes if the appropriate medication is not
administered quickly.
The
auto-injector style of administration is easy to do, even
by someone withonly basic little training.
Imagine
the feeling ... a child in your care or someone
you know is having a severe allergic reaction but is not known
to be allergic ...
and does not have their own auto-injector.

Training
programs endorsed by the Quebec government will
rovide you with the skills to evaluate and auto-inject a person
if needed, even if they have never been diagnosed and
do not have their own medication.
Two
levels of training are available ...
90
minutes
Teaches you how to use an available auto-injector (Epipen)
on someone who is known to be allergic and is showing signs
of a severe reaction
4
hours
Trains you how to evaluate and inject someone who is not known
to be allergic, but is showing signs of a severe reaction
and there is an auto-injector available.
These
life-saving four hour training session includes a PowerPoint
presentation, demonstrations, and lots of hands-on practice
with EpiPen training injectors.
